This weekend the Paarl-Franschhoek valley will be full of fun and great entertainment!
Franschhoek Bastille Festival is just around the corner. The 26th Bastille Day Festival in Franschhoek will be held on the 13th & 14th July. Locals and visitors to the valley will be celebrating centuries-old French Huguenot heritage at its annual Bastille Festival.
The French National Day is the anniversary of Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789. This was a turning point of the French Revolution, as well as the Fête de la Fédération which celebratedt! the unity of the French people on 14 July 1790. Celebrations are held throughout France and also in Franschhoek – the Cape’s very own French outpost!
Taking it up a notch this year festival goers visiting the Food & Wine Marquee are invited to dress according to the theme – your finest red, white and blue French inspired outfit. You can stand the chance of winning the Franschhoek Bastille Festival Best Dressed title. Karen Zoid will also be performing live at the Bastille Marquee on Sunday.
Sample the wide selection of Franschhoek wines on offer or treat your taste buds to the variety of delicious gourmet fare available to purchase from some of the Valley’s well-known restaurants.
